I was told today that the members of the Central Authority that were sworn in on Friday, will not be the final members because the new President takes office today and he wants to appoint his own members. So, if this is the case, we're no closer to the Central Authority being ready to start registering cases than we were last week.
According to the JCICS, they are recommending that any case that is already in PGN, and has an Aviso filed, should be automatically registered with the Central Authority. That would be good news, but we are still waiting for the Central Authority to publicly announce that they are going to accept that recommendation. There are still rumors going around that PGN is not working on any cases at all, but we are still hoping that's not really the case and that we can get out of PGN by Jan. 30th. But the quicker the Central Authority is up and running, the better for everyone adopting from Guatemala. If you want to know more, you can always go to www.guatadopt.com. We adopted Karly from Guatemala and she came home on 3/6/08. She is our little princess. I am also mommy to my 2 angel babies in Heaven, Blake (12/26/03)& Gabriella (10/10-10/13/04) who were so small, so sweet and taken all too soon. I run an infant loss support group once a month and I volunteer at a grief center for children.
